Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber

Hard-shell chambers, rated to 2.0 ATA — the pressure level most published HBOT research is built on.

Twenty-one hard-shell models ranging from a 39-inch diameter horizontal single-occupant chamber to a 64-inch wide vertical four-person multiplace chamber. Hard shell construction is what makes 2.0 ATA achievable and repeatable — a pressure level no inflatable or soft-sided chamber can produce.

Why 2.0 ATA

What 2.0 ATA Means — and Why It Determines Results

Atmospheres absolute (ATA) measures total pressure inside a chamber — ambient atmospheric pressure (1.0 ATA at sea level) plus any pressure added above that baseline. At 2.0 ATA, oxygen enters the lungs at twice sea-level pressure. Henry's Law governs what follows: gases dissolve into fluids in direct proportion to applied pressure on that gas. At 2.0 ATA, oxygen saturates not only hemoglobin in red blood cells, but the more fluid blood plasma and tissue fluid, reaching areas compromised circulation can't consistently supply due to the thick viscosity of red blood cells.

Chambers running at 1.3 or 1.5 ATA produce only a partial version of this effect, since they typically don't pair with enhanced oxygen density using pressure. At 2.0 ATA with an oxygen generator or concentrator, inhaled oxygen content can rise from 21% up to roughly 93% ± 3% — nearly 4.5 times more oxygen, plus double the atmospheric pressure. This means that at 2.0 ATA and 95% oxygen, one can receive almost 900–1000% more oxygen into the body. Even strong, intensive exercise can only increase muscle oxygen levels by about 20% because oxygen saturation in the hemoglobin is limited to 100% regardless of exercise and can only circulate blood faster by increasing the heart rate, increasing some oxygen intake. Most peer-reviewed HBOT protocols run at 2.0 ATA for 1–2 hours; purchasing a chamber below that ATA pressure means operating outside the parameters most published research uses at 2.0 or sometimes higher (2.1–2.4 ATA).

Hard Shell vs. Soft Shell

Why Structure Sets the Pressure Ceiling

Hard shell chambers reach 2.0 ATA because rigid construction holds under compression forces flexible materials can't withstand.

How to Choose

How to Choose a Hard-Shell Oxygen Chamber: A Six-Step Method

Narrow the chamber range by entry conditions, capacity, posture, oxygen delivery, customization and delivery preparation.

A practical hard-shell oxygen chamber decision should not begin with appearance or one isolated specification. A workable project balances the site, number of users, experience, configuration, interior design and delivery route. The following six-step method is our product and project-selection framework.

  1. Start with the site and entry route. Record room dimensions, elevator size, corridors, turns, unloading route, floor load and final placement. Our reference minimum is an 860 mm (34 in.) door width and 2000 mm (78.5 in.) door height. Larger two-person and multi-person chambers also need turning and assembly clearance checks.
  2. Select the capacity level. Single-person chambers suit homes, private recovery rooms, boutique studios and one-to-one services. Two-person chambers support couples, wellness centers, sports recovery and commercial scheduling. Four-person chambers focus on higher traffic, team rotation and capacity per time slot. Capacity is the first filter, not the final decision.
  3. Confirm posture and spatial experience. Lie-down chambers emphasize privacy and immersion. Sit-in chambers improve entry and combine naturally with massage, ventilation and powered footrests. Panoramic windows or side windows improve openness and showroom presence. Residential projects usually prioritize comfort and interior integration, while commercial projects must also consider operation and throughput.
  4. Confirm oxygen delivery and core configuration. Projects can use a nasal headset, a non-rebreather oxygen mask, a BIBS full face mask, or a switchable combination. Typical oxygen-flow directions are 10L for single-person chambers, 20L for two-person chambers and 40L for four-person chambers, with final upgrades confirmed in the configuration sheet.
  5. Use customization to support the venue. Exterior color, interior material, flooring, seating, ambient lighting, star ceiling, red light, entertainment and logo treatment can be confirmed around the project. Clinics often prefer a clean professional direction; med-spas and hotels favor quiet premium finishes; sports spaces can use deeper colors and controlled brand accents.
  6. Lock the delivery checklist before production. Confirm the site sheet, configuration sheet, color and logo rendering, packing method, installation route, operating documents and after-sales scope before production. Reviewing door, elevator and turning photos together with the equipment configuration reduces information gaps in projects.

The efficient sequence is site and entry → capacity → posture and experience → oxygen and core configuration → visual customization → delivery checklist. Narrowing the range in this order produces a more installable and operable solution than selecting appearance alone.

Construction & Controls

How Our Chambers Are Built

Our HBOT chamber shells are made from two types of steel. One is grade Q345R steel, rated for use in pressure vessels and boilers, with industrial paint coatings for humidity control against any rust due to moisture in the air. Alternatively, we offer an option for some models of chamber shells to be built out of grade 304 stainless steel with industrial paint coatings, which is more resistant to any rust or moisture. A grade 304 stainless steel shell increases costs about 15–20%. If maintained properly, the 304 stainless steel will generally last longer due to its rusting resistance. Q345R steel with industrial coatings is considered an excellent steel material for hyperbaric shells. Our chambers are expected to last into 2–3 decades of normal use.

All chamber doors and windows are polycarbonate material, rather than acrylic, due to its flexibility and strength over acrylic.

Our chambers generally use 240V, 15–35 amp electrical power, although 120V, 15–20 amp power is possible in smaller chamber situations if custom ordered and built for 120V usage.

Our chambers and any therapy session can be controlled from 1.1–2.0 ATA pressure, entered and exited by one person from inside the chamber or with an exterior attendant using 2-way phone intercom, even in the event of an electrical power outage during a session. All chambers have independent interior and exterior controls for door opening and closing, oxygen mask choices, session timing, chamber pressurization adjustment, oxygen flow rates and timing, interior cooling, depressurization speed and rate, emergency depressurization, emergency door release and entertainment choices.

Chambers are available in many colors, seating types, configurations, oxygen masks, fabrics, wall coverings and flooring. We can even add red light (400–700 nm) panels, with no heat production, inside a chamber if desired.

Materials

Q345R Carbon Steel vs. 304 Stainless Steel

We offer hyperbaric chambers manufactured by two different manufacturers. Hard-shell hyperbaric oxygen chambers up to 2.0 ATA are usually commercially manufactured using Q345R carbon/low alloy steel or 304-grade stainless steel.

A well-coated and maintained chamber made with Q345R steel will last from 15–20 years, while a well-coated and maintained 304SS steel chamber will last 20–30 years. However, a well maintained Q345R carbon steel chamber can last as long if the interior and exterior coatings are well maintained. This is primarily due to 304SS superior corrosion resistance against ambient moisture and oxygen exposure. Due mainly to this, the Q345R chambers are less costly to manufacture and purchase.

304SS is an 18-8 chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steel that provides high structural integrity, strong natural corrosion resistance, and a long operational lifespan. It is generally coated with additional corrosion-resistant coatings ensuring a longer life span.

Q345R is a low-alloy manganese, high-strength specialized boiler and pressure vessel steel (closely equivalent to ASTM A516 Grade 70) commonly used for industrial and medical pressure shells.

Q345R offers a higher yield strength (≥ 345 MPa) than 304SS steel (≥ 304 MPa) and good tensile properties, allowing it to safely withstand the structural loads of pressurized chambers. The material provides good welding performance, which is vital for fabricating a seamless, leak-proof pressure vessel shell.

Manufacturers using Q345R steel chambers apply specialized flame-retardant, non-toxic, and oxygen compatible coatings to internal and external surfaces, to prevent corrosion, withstand high oxygen partial pressures and ensure safety.

Manufacturers of 304SS steel chambers will paint or powder-coat the exterior surface, and the interior steel will be polished and undergoes a chemical bath to maximize its corrosion resistance properties.

Any hyperbaric chamber built for human occupancy using steel must strictly comply with recognized safety frameworks like the ASME PVHO-1 (Pressure Vessels for Human Occupancy) standard, undergo rigorous non-destructive flaw detection (such as X-ray testing), and pass hydrostatic proof inspections.

Integrated Molding

The integrated-molding cabin is quieter and more durable than a screw-assembled square chamber, and the cylindrical stainless steel structure stays balanced and strong throughout a session.

Eight Safety Designs

Door leak detection that prevents pressurization on an unsealed door, four sets of automatic constant pressure valves, a carbon dioxide discharge device, and a pressure alarm that triggers above normal levels.

Interior & Exterior Control

An internal control system lets the occupant set pressure level and air conditioning from inside, with internal and external intercom and an oversized automatic hatch.

Experience Mode

A first-time-user mode slows the pressurization curve so eardrum discomfort eases as pressure rises — swallow, chew gum, or pinch and blow the nose to rebalance.

Cabin Comfort

Wall-mounted LCD for TV and music, a movable specialized air conditioner with water cooling for hot-weather sessions, and a transparent polycarbonate sliding door for easy access.

Color Selection

Carbon black, pearlescent silver, bright red, gemstone blue, vibrant orange and macaron pink — or a custom color, available across all three models.

Multiple interior layouts are available on each model for different scenarios and users.

Home or Clinic

Choosing for Home Use vs. Clinical Practice

Home installations typically need a chamber that fits within a dedicated room or garage, operates on a standard residential electrical circuit of 120V–240V, and pairs with a home-grade oxygen concentrator — monoplace models from 32" to 36" meet all three. We provide delivery coordination, site preparation guidance, installation, training, and post-installation support with every purchase.

Practitioners and operators configuring a clinical or commercial environment prioritize session capacity, durability under daily use, and compliance with applicable facility standards. A clinic running six to eight sessions daily needs a 40" or larger chamber paired with a higher-output oxygen delivery system. Contact us to confirm oxygen delivery specifications and jurisdiction-specific considerations for your setting.

Buyer's Guide

What to Ask Before Buying a Hyperbaric Chamber

Shopping for a hyperbaric oxygen chamber can be confusing — and intentionally made overly complicated by many sellers. Buying decisions shouldn't require being an expert. Here's what to ask before you decide.

  • How good is the overall build quality and strength of the device? What's the manufacturer's history, warranty terms, and where are the chambers manufactured?
  • Do you have outdoor and indoor open access to the chamber interior room, and door widths and heights to move a heavy device and install it without disassembly?
  • What ATA pressure is the device rated for, and what's the total electrical wattage and voltage used? Sufficient power capacity at your location is critical.
  • How many people would like to use the chamber at the same time?
  • What are the interior dimensions? Do you want a chamber where you lie flat on a bed, or recline in a chair, or a chair you sit up in with little to no recline?
  • If a 2-person chamber, do you want the chairs side-to-side or facing each other?
  • Do you want exterior controls only (requires an exterior operator), or dual exterior and interior controls for use from inside the chamber?
  • How many different ATA pressures are available within the device?
  • Does the device have easy-to-use controls?
  • What type of entertainment system is allowed inside the chamber?
  • Are battery-powered electronics or loose papers safely allowed inside the device?
  • What type of oxygen inhalation system is used — a BIBS system or a non-rebreather mask system?
  • Is additional room cooling required to offset heat created by the oxygen concentrator or generator?
  • Does the seller provide after-sale and after-warranty service?
  • How do the concentrator/generator, air cooling, and pressure enricher work — are they easy to adjust, use, and service?
  • How difficult is the device to enter for therapy or exit from following a session?
  • Do you want a manual chamber door or an electric closing and opening door?
  • Does the device require a 120V or 240V circuit, and what circuit breaker size (15–35 amps) is required?
  • Is the purchase price the final total, or are there add-on costs you don't expect?
Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does delivery take?

Larger made-to-order chambers take 45–60 days to produce before shipping, and shipping to your location takes 7–45 days. We give you an expected production and shipping time before you order. Shipping times are estimates and can vary with port inspections, government tax changes and supply chain delays.

Do I need special electrical wiring?

Depending on the model, a chamber requires either a 120V or a 240V circuit with a 15–35 amp breaker. We confirm the exact circuit and breaker size for your chosen configuration before you order so an electrician can prepare the room.

Will the chamber fit through my door?

Our Standard grade chambers split into sections for delivery through an 800 mm (31.5 in.) doorway. Our reference minimum is an 860 mm (34 in.) door width and a 2000 mm (79 in.) door height. Premium grade chambers cannot be split, so we check your entry route before ordering.

What is included in the price?

Pricing includes shipping, and white-glove installation and training at your location on items priced at $10,000 or more. Applicable taxes are additional. Each chamber ships with the air pressure enricher, 93% ± 3% oxygen generator, water-cooling system, and a BIBS or non-rebreather mask system.

What is the warranty?

Full warranty as stated for each item, 7-days-a-week technical support, and on-site warranty period maintenance within 7 working days across the continental U.S. After the warranty period, paid maintenance is available for life — parts, labor and travel at then current rates.

Is financing available?

Yes. Our lending partners offer financing for qualifying purchases, subject to credit approval. For orders of $10,000 or less, full payment is due at the time of order. For orders over $10,000, 75% of the total is due at ordering, with the remainder due before local delivery is scheduled.
